At the end of October 2017, Tita Nzebi went to Kolkata (Calcutta) for her first tour in India. It was during this trip that she finalized the writing of the hitherto unfinished titles and composed others. While leaving there, she had some ideas on a possible next album. On her return, she had a very precise idea of this album, hence the title From Kolkata. Tita Nzebi addresses themes that are dear to her. The family first with the title Ba ngu (the mothers) for a tribute to what she describes as plural motherhood. For many peoples in Africa, the mother of a child is not only the one who gives it life. His sisters are also the mothers of this child and even beyond. Respect for human dignity with the title L'ghôbe (respect) in which the artist recognizes the difficulty or even the impossibility of loving everyone because our hearts are not big enough for that, but questions the need to respect others, even those you don't like. Always in connection with the respect of human dignity, she denounces the dictatorship in Gabon, her country of origin as well as the silence of good people on this subject in Dictature inavouée, La caravane passe and Mindombe (the guards, the sentries) Her desires for sharing and exchange were also present throughout the production of this album. First with the accompanying team of musicians: Georges Dieme on drums, Ivan Réchard on bass and Serge Ananou on guitar. From Kolkalta was entirely arranged and produced by this team and her, apart from the title L'kwèle, a collaboration between guitarist Sec Bidens and Tita Nzebi. Then with artists met in Bengal: Titash Sen, Gobinda Das Bairagya and Sandip Bag on the titles Bâul song and From Kolkata. From Kolkata in a nutshell: a true hymn to wisdom
